Elbert County Elementary School Educators Honored at American Red Cross Heroes Breakfast

The East Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross held its Annual Heroes Breakfast this morning in Athens.  Every day people make extraordinary contributions by putting their needs aside to help others in our community.  The America Red Cross recognized many of those heroes today.  The event honored citizens from a number of different fields–animal rescue, community service, education, emergency response, fire rescue, law enforcement, medical, and the military.

Recognition was shared for some very special heroes from the Elbert County School District.  Charla Webb, Jill Lavender, Tracy Hunter, and Bruce Evans were recognized for the emergency actions that were taken as they worked to save the life of our third grade student earlier this year.

Congratulations to Charla, Jill, Tracy, and Bruce!  Through your heroic actions, you have stepped forward and made everyone in our school community very proud.
